Congress Venue
Located on the north-eastern Mediterranean coast of Spain, Barcelona has a rich history dating back at least 2.000 years when it gained prominence as a Roman town under its old name, Barcino.
The city has become a world renowned destination thanks to the perfect combination of its tourist attractions, lifestyle and lovely Mediterranean climate. You can find magnificent examples of artistic trends throughout the ages providing a great Romanesque, Gothic and above all Modernist legacy.

Barcelona definitely has a special charm that will captivate you from the very moment you set eyes on it and seduce you forever after.

Meeting Location
The XIIth Insulin Receptors and Insulin Action Meeting will take place in the Auditorium of one of the most emblematic building of Barcelona: La Pedrera (Casa Milà).

La Pedrera is probably the most famous building of the “Modernista” or Catalan Art Nouveau period and one of the architect Antoni Gaudí’s most ambitious works. It is a container that is a work of art in itself.

Its singularity and artistic and heritage value are amply accredited by its inclusion in the city of Barcelona Artistic Heritage catalogue in 1962; by its declaration as Historical and Artistic Monument of National Interest by the Spanish government in 1969; or by its entry by UNESCO on its World Heritage list in 1984, for its exceptional universal value.
